In this article we describe a study on the design of a course in which aspects of information technology are integrated in the physics curriculum of the upper level in secondary schools (havo/vwo) in the Netherlands. The main purpose of our study was to obtain a consensus of opinion between people involved in physics education about possible objectives, contents and contexts. As a result of this study we developed blue-prints for a course ‘Process Automation ‘ (age 16) and a course ‘Computer Applications in Physics’ (age 17/18). We will present both the outline and the results of our study.
