Nieuwe Wiskrant. Tijdschrift voor Nederlands Wiskundeonderwijs The principal endeavour of the Educational Computer Centre for the past decenium has been directed towards the project "Automation in Society" – a project encompassing subjects ranging from banking, the payroll, reservation bookings and text processing to simulation and artificial intelligence. Computer supported mathematics education has been a further focal point. It may be surmised that in the future computing power will progress from the computer centre to the pupil ’s desk. This will not finish the role of the centre but rather modify its task in order to become a data bank and a dissemination centre for software, text material, information and advice. |
