Nieuwe Wiskrant. Tijdschrift voor Nederlands Wiskundeonderwijs Our classrooms are being infiltrated by micro-computers. People expect them to function as teaching and testing machines or at least to be the reason lo change our mathematics curriculum drastically. In time these expectations may indeed be fulfilled partially. For the time being we can use them as didactical tools, which have the advantage of: - finding solutions to problems by experiment which will increase insight in the problems - computer representations being a step towards the finding of mathematical models - the obvious manner in which considerations of accuracy appear. It is the writer’s opinion that this use will be the most beneficial to education for the next decennium and perhaps long thereafter. |
