Join us on 19 November 2025 at the Prodentfabriek in Amersfoort for a day of insights, collaboration, and strategic action to secure the future of engineering talent in the Netherlands.

How can we reduce dropout rates from technical education and professions?

The Netherlands Academy of Engineering (NAE) is taking its first step towards a system-wide approach to addressing the shortage of engineers. This conference brings together leaders, researchers, and policymakers from academia, industry, and government to focus on the outflow of engineering talent and to co-develop an action agenda for the coming years.

We will explore pressing questions such as:

· What drives students and professionals to leave the engineering field?
· Which effective measures can accelerate the retention of engineering talent, with particular attention to female engineers and engineers with a migration background?
· How can we work together to significantly reduce the outflow of talent?
